I priced out a Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, sat on it for a week, then bought this instead and put the difference toward a long weekend. Two months in I don't regret the trade. The X10 Pro Omni is the robot vacuum that proved to me the all-in-one dock has finally trickled down to a price normal people can talk themselves into.
The dock is the entire reason to buy it. It auto-empties the dustbin, washes the mop pads, dries them with warm air, and refills the clean water tank. I have touched the robot itself maybe four times since I set it up, all to relocate it after rearranging furniture. I change the disposable bag in the dock about every two months. This is the experience the flagship robots have been selling for years; getting it under $500 is the news.
On cleaning, it punches above its price on the things you'd expect a robot to be tested on. The carpet deep-clean was visibly better than the iRobot Roomba i7 it replaced. Pet hair is its strongest category, which lines up with the independent scores and with my dog's contribution to my floors. Obstacle avoidance is genuinely good — it routed around a phone charger and a half-eaten chew toy the dog left in the hallway without incident, and it correctly treated a low planter as a wall rather than a hill it should try to climb.
Mopping is where it earns the lower price. The spinning pads put real downward pressure on the floor, which is the right design, but the pads are smaller than the flagship competition and the mop doesn't scrub so much as wipe. It is fine on a once-a-week cycle in a kitchen that doesn't see much spillage. It is not what I'd buy if my floors were tile and I cooked aggressively.
The app is the other gripe. It works, mostly. It also crashes about once a fortnight, takes long enough to load that I default to the physical button on the dock, and the room-labeling interface feels like it was translated through two languages. None of this stops the robot from doing its job. All of it makes the experience feel cheaper than the hardware does.
The small stuff: the front-mounted main brush is less effective on fine debris than a center-mounted brush would be, so it sometimes pushes flour around the kitchen instead of picking it up. Real-world suction is a little below the headline 8,000 Pa, which would matter more if you were buying this for raw power. And like every other flagship-style dock, this one is large and ugly and lives wherever it has to live. Mine ended up in the dining room because there was nowhere else to put it.
Verdict: Buy this if you want the full self-everything experience and you've been waiting for the price to come down. If your floors are mostly tile and you mop hard once a week, get a Roborock S8 Pro Ultra instead.
